Eminent academician Dr. Kshiti Bhusan Das has been conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the All Odisha Commerce Association for his outstanding contribution to higher education and carrying forward the rich legacy of Commerce Education in Odisha.
The award was presented during the Association’s Annual Function hosted by Ravenshaw University, Cuttack.
Prof Das, a distinguished academician from Odisha, is currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Jharkhand—the first from the Odisha cadre to hold this position. His leadership in transforming the institution from its formative stage into a strong academic centre stands as a testament to his vision, dedication, and administrative acumen.
Throughout his illustrious career, Prof Das held several key positions, including that of Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Odisha and IGNOU, Chairman of NCTE (Eastern Region), Member of the Collegiums’ of Social Scientists of India, and member of various committees under the UGC and the Ministry of Education, Government of India. As a Nominee of the Visitor, he has set benchmarks in academic governance and policy formulation.
His passion for knowledge and societal development is reflected in his extensive research work leading to PhD and D.Litt. degrees, numerous sponsored research projects, and a wide array of publications. His involvement in government policy formulation, particularly in the fields of education and economics, highlights his academic commitment and missionary zeal.
Prof. Das’s scholarly engagements have taken him across America, Africa, Europe, and East Asia, showcasing his global academic reach. His journey in academic administration began at Utkal University, where he served as Head and Dean, Department of Commerce and Management, Registrar, and Director (CDC), exhibiting exemplary leadership and innovation.
