Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, announcing that he would join the INDIA bloc Yatra in Bihar very soon, slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing the 130th Constitution Amendment Bill in the Parliament.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he clarified that he would join the Yatra of the INDIA bloc, and not that of Rahul Gandhi.

On being asked about the 130th Constitution Amendment , the Samajwadi Party chief said, “Our chief minister (Yogi Adityanath) knew that one day such a Bill would come. That is why, as soon as he became the chief minister, he first withdrew the cases against himself and even that against the deputy CM.”

Commenting on the threat perception of expelled SP MLA Puja Pal, the SP president said, “I am not able to understand that when she has met the chief minister, what she is afraid of. I have asked the state president to write a letter to the Delhi government in which it is being demanded that an investigation should be conducted into her threat perception and which organizations can kill her.”

Reiterating his charges of manipulation in the electoral rolls against the government, he said the Election Commission is hiding behind the DM. “The same DM is hiding behind the election commission while the election commission is hiding behind the police and the Lekhpal,” he alleged.

He said out of a total of 18,000 affidavits submitted to the Election Commission India (ECI), the poll panel replied only in 14 cases. “I want to ask if those people have died then should not get death certificates.”

Akhilesh Yadav said farmers are standing in line for fertilizers in the whole of UP today but the government is not responding to their grievances. At many places, elderly farmers have lost their lives. In such a situation, the government should tell where the fertilizer is.

He also said that at many places wild animals are preying on children and farmers. In Bijnor, leopards are often found preying on children in large numbers. Similarly, attacks have also taken place in Kalagarh, Nawabganj, Kheri. The government should pay attention to this. These incidents are being reported from every district. Animals are taking lives.

Akhilesh Yadav said the government is lying about the merger of schools. It has been heard that when the schools were merged, our colleagues were running PDF Pathshala or those who have sent their children to that Pathshala, the government is registering an FIR against them.

Earlier, the SP president announced that the disabled would get their rights if the Samajwadi government is formed in the state. Along with giving electric wheelchairs to the disabled, shops will be allotted to them at the village panchayat level and in the city.

He demanded that the BJP government at the Center should increase the pension for the disabled.

While honouring the disabled in the party office on Sunday, Akhilesh Yadav said that the government had made big promises to the disabled, but could not fulfill any promise.
