Akhilesh Yadav, National President of the Samajwadi Party, launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party government and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the expansion of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet.
Posting on social media, Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the Chief Minister has no role in the cabinet expansion and that decisions are being made on the basis of “slips sent from above.”
The SP chief sarcastically remarked, “He has to do something to pass the time! Anyway, he has no role in cabinet expansion. Slips will come from there, and here they will only be read. In BJP rule, the CM has been reduced to merely a courier-messenger.”
He further took a swipe at the Chief Minister by saying that the public is asking, “Will you watch the film sitting in the front row or the back row?”
He added that people should watch the film carefully, as they may understand the principle of “karmaphal-kansphaal” (the consequences of one’s actions) and perhaps witness some positive change.
In fact, Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to watch the film Krishnavathram on Sunday evening at Lok Bhavan along with his Cabinet colleagues.
Akhilesh Yadav also attempted to convey a message of morality and introspection in his statement. He said that it is not an individual who is inherently evil, but rather “greed and avarice” that gradually lead a person towards wrongdoing. Conversely, he said, when a person abandons selfishness and follows the path of altruism, positive transformation becomes possible.
He further added that the message of the epics is that good ultimately triumphs over evil. Atonement for one’s mistakes and ill-will, he said, does not depend on any fixed place but requires inner enlightenment. He concluded his message with the Vedic mantra: “Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya.”
