Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav Saturday criticized the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh over the increasing incidents of wild animal attacks across the state.

Yadav said in a post on his WhatsApp channel, questioning the government’s response to the issue.

Yadav’s remarks come after several incidents of wild animal attacks were reported in districts like Bahraich, Sitapur, and Pilibhit, leaving people injured and killed.

The SP chief questioned whether the government would take concrete steps to address the issue or simply deny the problem by claiming lack of evidence.

Akhilesh Yadav also slammed the government’s recent GST reforms, calling them a “gimmick” that won’t reduce the price burden on the poor. “BJP leaders raised slogans and gave speeches claiming that reduced GST will lead to 50% price cut. Now, people are going to the market and when they don’t find the 50% cut in prices, they argue with shopkeepers,” he said.
