Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday launched a scathing attack on the BJP government over the country’s rising debt, saying that the ruling party’s policies have led to a situation where the government’s hands are tight, and it is forced to borrow heavily.
“Ye Hain Duniya Ke Sabse Bade Karzdaar” (They are the world’s biggest borrowers), Akhilesh Yadav said in a post on his WhatsApp channel, criticizing the government’s economic policies. “Tumhari Haath Ki Tangi Khabar Bun Jaye Hukmaraan Itna Bhi Udhar Achcha Nahi” (It is not good for the government that its financial debt becomes news, he added.
Akhilesh Yadav’s remarks come amid growing concerns over India’s rising debt and fiscal deficit. The country’s debt-to-GDP ratio has been increasing steadily, and the government has been under pressure to reduce its borrowing and improve its fiscal management.
Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP government of neglecting the interests of farmers, artisans, traders, and small businesses, while engaging in corrupt practices like taking commissions and donations from big companies. “If the BJP government had taken care of its farmers, artisans, traders, and small businesses, and not engaged in corrupt practices, then the situation would be different today,” he said.
Akhilesh Yadav concluded by saying that the BJP government’s exit is necessary for the country’s economic improvement. “BJP Jaye tou Arthavyavastha Sudhar Jaye” (If the BJP goes, the economy will improve), he said, emphasizing the need for a change in government to address the country’s economic challenges.
