Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav Sunday extended warm birthday wishes to Bihar’s young leader Tejashwi Yadav, calling him the state’s popular ‘Nokri-Nayak’ and expressing hope for his future as the Chief Minister of Bihar. Speaking on his WhatsApp channel, Akhilesh also launched a scathing attack on the BJP and the Election Commission of India, accusing them of electoral malpractices and corruption.
“Heartfelt birthday wishes to Bihar’s popular ‘Nokri-Nayak’ young leader, Shri Tejashwi Yadav ji, and best wishes for taking oath as the future Chief Minister of Bihar!” Akhilesh wrote.
Akhilesh Yadav’s statements, posted in a series of posts on his WhatsApp channel, come amid growing political tension ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, as opposition parties rally around issues of governance, corruption, and farmers’ welfare. His message underscores the SP’s commitment to exposing corruption while championing the concerns of the new generation and marginalised communities.
He criticised the Election Commission under BJP rule, stating, “It’s essential to remove the mess of electoral malpractices spread by some people in the Election Commission during the BJP rule for a ‘true clean India.’ The BJP and its allies believe in lootocracy, not democracy. They have always worked secretly, using backdoors and espionage, before and after independence.”
Akhilesh accused certain officials within the Election Commission of involvement in electoral malpractices, warning that these actions have tarnished the Commission’s reputation. “Honest people in the Election Commission are being sidelined,” he said, urging that the corrupt must be exposed and democracy strengthened from within.
”They have always worked secretly, using backdoors and espionage, before and after independence. Their underhand tactics are now exposed, and the people have reached their limit of tolerating scams and corruption.
”We must continue to expose the corrupt. The days of those who are weakening democracy from within are numbered. The new generation will build a new future,” he said.
Turning to farmer issues, the SP chief highlighted the plight of milk farmers in Uttar Pradesh. “The milk farmers of UP demand a ‘white paper’ on the ‘corrupt BJP government’ regarding misuse of the Rs 2000 crore budget allocated for new and renovated milk plants,” he said. “The BJP is not only anti-farmer but also anti-milk farmer. They have ruined the milk plants, and it’s time to hold them accountable.”
