Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Friday expressed deep sorrow over the recent blast in Ayodhya, which claimed the lives of five people. In a statement, Yadav said, “The news of five people dying due to a blast in Ayodhya is extremely sad. Immediate arrangements should be made for proper treatment of the injured, and an investigation should be conducted into the matter.”

Even while the cause of the blast is still being investigated, and authorities are working to determine the exact sequence of events, media reports said that five people, including three children, were killed and several others injured when a house collapsed after a powerful explosion in Pagla Bhari village, within the Pura Kalandar police station area of Ayodhya, on Thursday.

The blast reportedly occurred in a house in the Purakalandar police station area, with preliminary findings suggesting a gas cylinder or pressure cooker explosion as the possible cause. The district administration has launched an investigation into the incident.

Yadav also took a swipe at the BJP, saying, “Those who get cases against them dropped, with what face do they make accusations against others?” This remark is seen as a reference to the BJP’s alleged practice of getting cases against its leaders dropped.

The blast has sent shockwaves through the city, with local authorities rushing to the scene to provide assistance. The injured have been taken to the district hospital, where treatment is underway.
