Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at the BJP today, terming it a “dud firecracker,” and blamed the Yogi Adityanath government for the mess in the state power department.

“Today is Dhanteras, so I will refrain from speaking ill of anyone. But what can be expected from a dud firecracker on Diwali? How can those who haven’t produced electricity provide electricity?”, he commented on the UP government here on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference where several leaders from other political parties joined the SP, Yadav said that, “UP Chief Minister has gone to Bihar as a star campaigner for the party. We say that he has gone not as a star campaigner but as a star divider. Bihar will never accept communal people. The first lie the government is telling is that it has been eight years. Whereas the government has been in place for about nine years. Now, only one last budget of this government is coming. Earlier, they wanted to sell electricity. Now they are not even able to privatize it.”

The SP chief further said that during his time, the UP government’s budget was Rs four lakh crore and we built stadiums, metro, and expressways. Now the government’s budget has increased to Rs eight lakh crore, but there is no sign of any work. The government is unable to stop theft in departments. That is why thefts are taking place in the homes of MLAs.

Talking about wildlife attacks, he said that nowadays people are troubled by the terror of wolves.

“Until now, bulls were climbing on rooftops. Now even leopards are climbing on rooftops. Over 52 people have been attacked in just a few days. Samajwadi Party members are against both bulls and bulldozers. Potters are worried about Diwali. If the SP government is formed, the government will buy one crore diyas from potters on Diwali,” he announced.

Earlier, several leaders joined the SP, which included Devendra Kushwaha, Nadeem Ashraf, Ranveer Singh, Gautam Ahirwar, and Shyam Lal Bind from Ghazipur.

Party president Akhilesh Yadav welcomed them all to the party. He said that many people are joining the PDA’s social movement and Baba Saheb’s movement. The arrival of all these leaders will strengthen the PDA’s fight.
