In a major revelation, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has claimed that offerings worth crores of rupees have gone missing from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
In a post on social media on Sunday, Yadav described the matter as highly sensitive for devotees of Lord Ram across the world. He wrote, “This is extremely sensitive news for devotees of Lord Ram all over the world. Offerings worth crores of rupees meant for the Ram Temple have gone missing.”
Akhilesh Yadav also targeted the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and the government. He stated, “The disappearance of crores of rupees is a very shameful situation for the temple trust. No one is willing to come forward and explain.”
The SP president demanded that the court take suo motu cognizance of the matter, saying it is directly linked to the deep faith that the Sanatani community worldwide has in Lord Ram. He also termed the government’s silence on the issue “suspicious.”
Former Ayodhya MLA Pawan Pandey, who also served as a minister in the Samajwadi Party government, claimed that the value of the missing offerings could be between ₹5 crore and ₹7.5 crore.
He said that if no theft had taken place, the Trust’s General Secretary, Champat Rai, should publicly swear in the name of Lord Ram that the allegations were false. If the allegations are found to be true, an FIR should be registered, he added.
Pandey further said, “It is not clear how long this alleged theft has been going on. An investigation should also be conducted to determine which trust members may have received this money.”
Meanwhile, despite repeated attempts, no official from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was available for comment on the matter.
