Terming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as anti-democracy and anti-Constitution, Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP does not respect the Constitution framed by Baba Saheb Dr BR Ambedkar. He alleged that the BJP is conspiring to undermine the sanctity of democracy.
Addressing party leaders and workers from various districts at the Samajwadi Party’s state headquarters in Lucknow on Tuesday, Yadav said, “The BJP will not be able to stand against the power of the PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority).” He claimed that the BJP fears the unity of the PDA and asserted that the Samajwadi Party will not allow it to weaken democracy.
He said that if the Samajwadi Party forms the government in 2027, the PDA sections will be ensured their rights and dignity. He added that the party’s goal is to establish social justice, while accusing the BJP of working against this ideology.
Yadav also accused the BJP government of misgoverning the state, stating that inflation, unemployment, and corruption are widespread. He said corruption has increased across departments, and the public is suffering due to commission-seeking and profiteering.
He further criticized the government over the power sector, alleging that consumers are being exploited through prepaid electricity meters. He claimed that farmers were earlier affected by nano urea, and now consumers are being harassed through prepaid meters.
Calling on party workers to reach out to the public, Yadav urged them to work towards removing the BJP from power. He said that only after the BJP’s removal can democracy and the Constitution be protected, corruption and inflation curbed, and employment opportunities created for the youth.
