Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the BJP, alleging that the government is engaging in the politics of emotion while neglecting the interests of farmers, labourers, and youth.
He said that acting against the basic spirit of the Constitution is not in the best interest of the country, adding that only the Constitution given by Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar can guide India in the right direction.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Akhilesh Yadav expressed concern over the continuous decline in the value of the Indian rupee, stating that it is weakening rapidly against the dollar.
He said, “The rupee has fallen to ₹90 per dollar. There is a major crisis in the economy, but the BJP government is busy hiding the truth.”
He also criticised the BJP government over disruptions in IndiGo Airlines flights and the inconvenience caused to passengers. Yadav alleged that the government is empowering industrialists to such an extent that they can influence policies and decisions.
He further levelled allegations against the BJP regarding electoral bonds, claiming that this is why the government has no control over IndiGo.
He questioned the Election Commission over alleged revisions and deletions in the voter list. He claimed that two to three crore voters in Uttar Pradesh are at risk of having their names removed.
Despite the availability of Aadhaar cards, fingerprints, and retinal scans, the process of adding voters is still not being simplified through modern technology, he said. Yadav accused the BJP of deliberately harassing the public, just as it did during demonetisation and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Akhilesh Yadav also referred to the Mahakumbh case, alleging that the government did not present the correct figures. He said that none of the promises made by the BJP have been fulfilled.
He claimed that the public will oust the BJP from power this time and that the upcoming assembly elections will deliver historic results.
Thanking the people of Saharanpur, he said the alliance received strong support from the region in the Lok Sabha elections and expressed confidence that the people would continue to stand with the Samajwadi Party in the upcoming elections as well.
