Hours before leaders of opposition parties gathered in Delhi for a crucial INDIA bloc meeting, anonymous posters carrying sharp remarks about Congress and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi appeared at several roundabouts across the national capital.
The posters surfaced at a politically sensitive moment for the opposition alliance, which is meeting to discuss its future strategy and coordination ahead of upcoming political battles. The messaging sought to highlight past criticism of Congress and Rahul Gandhi by leaders from parties that are currently part of the INDIA bloc.
A common slogan printed across the posters read: “INDIA alliance wale jo aapas mein lad rahe hain, wo saath mein kya ladenge” (Those who are fighting among themselves in the INDIA alliance, how will they fight together?).
The posters did not mention the name of any organisation or individual and appeared to have been put up anonymously.
Several of the displays featured quotes attributed to senior opposition leaders. One poster carrying the image of Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee quoted her as saying that if Congress could not lead the alliance, she could do so. Another poster attributed a remark to Banerjee stating that Congress was losing credibility and that her party could not depend on it.

A separate poster featuring NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar highlighted a quote that read: “Rahul Gandhi mein consistency ki kami hai” (Rahul Gandhi lacks consistency).
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was quoted on another poster as saying that mothers in Delhi and Punjab tell children a story beginning with “once there was Congress”, in an apparent swipe at the party’s declining electoral fortunes in some states.
Among the more pointed messages was a quote attributed to former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, which questioned Rahul Gandhi’s political understanding despite his national profile.
Another poster featured AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal with the message: “Galti se bhi Congress ko vote mat de dena” (Do not vote for Congress, even by mistake).
DMK President MK Stalin was also featured in one of the displays, with a quote comparing Congress leaders to people who drill holes in the very boat they are travelling in.
INDIA bloc leaders meet in Delhi
The posters appeared as opposition parties assembled in Delhi for a meeting of the INDIA bloc, an exercise being viewed as an attempt to reinforce opposition unity after months of visible differences among alliance partners.
According to Congress, 23 political parties have confirmed participation in the meeting. Parties including the Trinamool Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) are among those expected to attend.
The meeting is being held at the Constitution Club in New Delhi and is expected to focus on the alliance’s future roadmap, preparations for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, and coordination on major political issues.
