After embarrassingly losing a Twitter poll to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, the Congress has now come up with a new poll asking which of these two – 39 Indians killed in Iraq and Unresolved Doklam dispute — is Sushma Swaraj’s biggest failure?

Making things ‘explicitly clear’, the Congress urged Swaraj to re-tweet this poll as well.

On 26 March, the poll which asked whether “the death of 39 Indians in Iraq is Sushma Swaraj’s biggest failure as Foreign Minister” had strongly backfired Congress as 76 percent voted “No”. Swaraj had re-tweeted this poll from her Twitter handle leaving the Congress party embarrassed.

The current poll has already garnered more than 11,000 votes with 57 percent of people voting for the first option ‘39 Indians killed in Iraq’, while 43 per cent voted for ‘unresolved Doklam dispute’.

Twitter polls or social media polls are not ‘politically-binding’ and cannot determine the mood of the entire community but are vehemently used by political parties to categorise each other and their performances.

Rahul Gandhi led Congress has been attacking Sushma Swaraj since the case of 39 missing Indian killed in Mosul, Iraq, surfaced. On 23 March, Congress had announced that they would move a Privilege Motion against External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for “misleading” Parliament.

On 20 March, Swaraj had announced in Parliament that all 39 Indian missing in Iraq, since June 2014, are dead and their bodies have been recovered.
