The Bihar Congress Disciplinary Committee has issued show-cause notices to several leaders found involved in anti-party activities during the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

According to State Congress Disciplinary Committee Chairman Kapildev Prasad Yadav, these individuals made statements on media and other public platforms during the election period that diverged from the party’s official line, adversely affecting the party’s image, credibility, and electoral performance.

All concerned individuals have been directed to submit their written explanations to the committee by 12 noon on 21 November.

He clarified that if responses are not received within the stipulated time, the committee will be compelled to take strict action, which may include expulsion from the primary membership of the Congress Party for six years.

The State Congress Disciplinary Committee stated that party discipline and unity are of utmost priority, and any act that harms the party will be taken seriously.

Those who have been issued show-cause notices include former ministers Afaque Alam and Veena Shahi; former spokespersons Ashok Gagan, Anand Madhav, and Suraj Sinha; former MLAs Chhatrapati Yadav, Gajanand Shahi alias Munna Shahi, and Sudhir Kumar alias Bunti Chaudhary; former MLC Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh; former Youth Congress presidents Raj Kumar Rajan and Nagendra Paswan Vikal; and former state Congress vice-president Sakheelur Rahman.

Earlier, these Congress leaders had demanded resignation of State Congress President Rajesh Ram. Claiming to be dedicated Congress workers, these leaders said they would stage a sit-in at the state Congress Headquarters Sadaquat Ashram in Patna on 22 November. They have also planned to visit Delhi on 24 November to press their demands.
