Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has called the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (USSSC) examination paper leak case ‘Nakal Jihad’ (Cheating Jihad) for the involvement of a minority community candidate in the matter.

After his earlier innovation, “Thook Jihad” (Spit Jihad), the chief minister has come up with another out of the blue terminology calling the recent paper leak “Nakal Jihad” following the arrest of the main accused, Khalid, and his sister Sabia.

Addressing a BJP function in Dehradun on Wednesday, Dhami said, “Coaching mafia and copying mafia have united to unleash an era of Nakal Jihad in the state. However, I want to tell you all that we will not sit quiet till our government buries copying mafia underground and ruins them forever.”

The chief minister stated this at a training workshop for the BJP’s state- and district-level office bearers held in Dehradun in the presence of party’s nation general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh, BJP state in-charge Dushyant Gautum and national vice president Rekha Verma.

In sync with Dhami’s tone, state BJP chief and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said, “The Dhami government is committed to eradicating ‘nakal jihad’. This is an obstacle to development. No one involved in the question paper leak conspiracy will be spared.”

Batt added that an attempt was being made to incite youths but both the BJP and the state government are vigilant and watchful.

He described the paper leak as an attempt to tarnish the image of the government institution conducting the examination to fill the posts of subordinate services in Uttarakhand. Bhatt said, “The police are investigating the conspiracy and the truth will be revealed. Attempts to incite youths and create an atmosphere of anarchy unleashing “nakal jihad” in the state will not be allowed to succeed.”

Thousands of youths and social activists across the state have been protesting on the streets against paper leak in the recently-held UKSSSC examination to fill vacancies for Patwaris, BDO and other subordinate services in the state government. This also forced the Dhami government to order a probe by a SIT under supervision of a retired Supreme Court judge.
