Decision taken at a meeting attended by senior AAP leaders
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to extend its support to the opposition's presidential candidate Meira Kumar, after its leaders met here to deliberate on the issue.
"After discussing with the party leaders, our party has decided to support Meira Kumar for the post of President," a senior AAP leader told IANS.
Party sources said they had no option but to back Meira Kumar's candidature since the party could not go with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

AAP's total vote share is a little over 9,000, as it has 87 MLAs in Delhi and Punjab and four MPs in Punjab, but it is less than one per cent of the total vote share in the presidential election.
