Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh alleged conspiracy to delete more than three crore votes in Uttar Pradesh.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, Sanay Singh said, “This is not just a vote, but a direct attack on democracy and the Constitution. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar wrote the Constitution by giving every citizen equal right to vote, the vote of the President is one and the vote of a laborer or a farmer is also one. Today, the same fundamental right of a citizen is being snatched away by the BJP government.”
The AAP leader announced his party would take out a march against this injustice and vote theft under the slogan of “Vote Bachao, Samvidhan Bachao Padyatra” from Rampur to Amroha from December 21 to 26. He said any citizen, who wants to be part of this movement can join it by giving a missed call on mobile number 7500040004.
Singh further said that this biggest fundamental right given in the Constitution is being snatched from the public today. The BJP is plotting to end democracy. He said that it is not just an election issue but a question of the future of the country. “If your vote is no more, who will listen to your voice?”
He said every citizen should participate in this padyatra to save the dreams of Baba Saheb, Gandhiji, and the great men of the country. This padyatra will pass through the Rampur, Moradabad and Amroha districts. “I appeal to all those colleagues who had not been able to participate in the padyatra from Saryu to Sangam earlier on, “Rojgar do, social justice do” padyatra, they must come this time.”
Singh said this conspiracy to snatch the right to vote in Uttar Pradesh exposes the anti-democratic mentality of the BJP. Now the time has come for the people to raise their voice and walk together to protect the Constitution.
