Delhi Assembly on Monday witnessed ruckus after verbal exchange of fires between ruling AAP and the opposition BJP legislators on graft allegation against BJP president Amit Shah’s son.

The AAP legislators demanded a CBI probe into the business dealings of Jay Shah whose company saw a huge rise in its turnover after his father became BJP president in 2014.

The disruption by the AAP members forced the Speaker to adjourn the session and extend it for one more day to discuss the pending list of the business.

AAP legislator Sanjeev Jha raising the issue in the assembly ~ that was convened to discuss  the proposed Metro fare hike ~ said that the charges against Jay Shah is the clear case of money laundering and thus should be handed over to the CBI for investigation.

According to a report, published in a news website The Wire the transactions made by firms owned by Shah’s son saw a dramatic increase following election of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“It is a grave matter. This scam is done under the nose of the party who claimed to be against corruption,” Jha said.

Jha was immediately joined by the other AAP MLAs who displayed newspaper clippings highlighting the story about the business dealing.

The move prompted Speaker Ram Niwas Goel to adjourn the Assembly for 15 minutes. However, soon after the business resumed, the AAP legislators again raked up the issue and stormed to the well of the House, this time, demanding a discussion on the matter.

Failing to control the AAP legislators, the Speaker again adjourned the House for 15 minutes. After resuming the session, the Speaker said, “that due to the paucity of time to discuss the pending list of the business, the session is extended for one more day.”
