Eight jail personnel including Jail Superintendent, Jailor and Deputy Jailor were suspended after an illegal meeting between MLA Abbas Ansari, son of mafia don Mukhtar Ansari, with his wife inside the jail in Chitrakoot on Friday.
The police had already arrested Nikhat Ansari, wife of Abbas Ansari, who had gone to visit her husband at Ragauli district jail.
Police here on Saturday said that Nikhat had reached the jail on Friday to meet her husband Abbas without registering her name in the prisoner’s visitor’s register. Nikhat met her husband in the Superintendent’s office inside the jail.

The jail authorities have also ordered the shifting of Abbas to some other jail in the state.
The Jail Department has suspended Jail Superintendent Ashok Sagar, Jailor Santosh Kumar, Deputy Jailor Piyush Pandey and 5 jail security personnel.
Jailor Rajeev Kumar Singh from Unnao has been made the new Jailor of Chitrakoot and Dev Darshan Singh, the new Deputy Jailor.
Abbas Ansari has been detained in the District Jail Ragauli for almost two months in the money laundering case.
Yesterday District Jail was raided by the District Magistrate Abhishek Anand and Superintendent of Police Vrinda Shukla during which some objectionable items including 2 mobile phones and Saudi  Arabian currency were recovered during the search of Nikhat who came to meet Abbas.
During the search, Nikhat also threatened the police team after which she was taken into custody from outside the jail by women constables.
An FIR was registered against Nikhat, her driver and 5 others at Karvi Kotwali police station under Sections 387, 222, 186, 506, 201 and 120B of the IPC.
