4 seers die after vehicle falls into well in Madhya Pradesh

Four seers died and three others were injured when their jeep fell into an unprotected well in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Saturday.

According to police, the accident took place on the Chhindwara-Betul State Highway near Temni Khurd Friday evening.

Police were informed that a tire of the vehicle burst, resulting in the driver losing control over the steering. Consequently, the jeep veered off the road and fell into the well located close to the highway.

As per Sanwri police station in-charge Mukesh Dwivedi, the sadhus were returning to Chitrakoot after visiting a religious site at Betul.

The deceased sadhus included Rakesh Giri, Malkhan Giri, Gulab Giri, and Kallu alias Lakshmi Giri.

The injured were admitted to a hospital for treatment.
