Four people were killed and six others injured when a tourist car was hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle on Mumbai-Delhi Expressway in Kota district of Rajasthan on Sunday.
The ill-fated car was en route to Kota from Indore when it was struck near Budadit town, close to Chambal bridge in the Etawah-Kota region, according to police and official sources.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the vehicle was badly damaged. Four people died on the spot, while six others sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. The accident caused a temporary traffic jam on the busy expressway.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the mishap. He directed officials to ensure prompt and adequate medical treatment for the injured and wished them a speedy recovery.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the swift recovery of the injured.
