In a tragic incident, police recovered the bodies of three minor sisters from a well in Ari village of the Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Tuesday.

The three siblings had been missing since Monday evening, and their bodies were recovered later in the night after several hours of searching.

According to Ajnar Station House Officer (SHO) Satyapal Singh Yadav, the bodies of Rammu Ahirwar’s daughters, Ruchi (7), Pushpa (5), and Deeksha (3), were found in an old, dilapidated well located in the field of Tizwa Ahirwar along the Laloni Road, a short distance from the village. The bodies were sent for postmortem examination.

The SHO said that preliminary investigation suggests the children might have been playing near the well when they accidentally slipped and fell into it.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Superintendent of Police Prabal Pratap Singh, Additional SP Vandana Singh, and other senior officials reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The village remains in mourning following the tragic deaths of the three siblings.
