BJP National President Nitin Nabin’s maiden visit to Uttarakhand on Thursday will have 25 welcome points between the airport and state capital Dehradun as he is set to chair a series of meetings including one with members of Pushkar Singh Dhami cabinet, party’s core committee and other office bearers of the state organisation.
State BJP leadership has planned to welcome the party’s national president at more than 25 locations, between Jollygrant Airport and party headquarters, on his arrival in Dehradun on Thursday evening.
Sharing the information, party’s senior spokesperson and state media in-charge Manbir Chauhan said that the state leadership has made grand plans to welcome Nabin on his first visit to the state after taking over as national president of the party. He said every welcome function during his nearly 25-km travel from Jollygrant Airport to BJP’s state headquarter in Dehradun will be organised by the party workers in a traditional way in cultural attire.
Nabin will be driven to the state BJP headquarters directly from airport wherein he will have a series of meetings with cabinet colleagues of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, claimed Manvir Singh Chauhan.
According to Chauhan, Nitin Nabin will land at the Dehradun Jollygrant Airport on May 28 at 4.35 pm. From there, he will be driven straight to the BJP’s state headquarter. Here he will chair a Core Committee meeting at 6.15 pm.
This will be followed by another meeting with the ministers in Dhami government. Party’s state office-bearers have informed that Nabin will try to extract first hand information as to the function of Dhami government. He will also seek feedback as to the harm being done by the anti-incumbency factor against Dhami government. Nabin will also look forward to seek feedback as to what extent anti-incumbency against government will damage the prospects of the party in coming 2027 assembly polls due for 2027.
On the second day of his visit, the BJP national president will meet the family members of former Chief Minister Major General BC Khanduri to pay his tributes to late leader. After this, he will head several meetings most importantly with MPs and MLAs in the state. This meeting will have detailed deliberations as to the organisational activities in the state. Thereafter, Nabin will chair a high-level meeting of the state office-bearers, state wing presidents, general secretaries, district in-charges, co-in-charges and party’s district presidents.
In the evening BJP national president will hold deliberations with party’s elected Mayors, Municipal Council Chairmen, Nagar Panchayat heads, District Panchayat Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Block Presidents. Later in the evening, he will meet party’s social media workers, IT cell office bearers and state spokespersons.
On the final day of his visit, the BJP chief will have multiple engagements with booth level party workers on the outskirts of Dehradun. Later, he will address BJP’s ‘Prabuddh Gosthi’ and take part in a youth dialogue program in Dehradun before taking flight back to Delhi in the evening.
