While BLOs engaged in SIR might have faced difficulties in other parts of the country, in Uttarakhand they are much faster, completing their tasks in just eight days. Thirteen BLOs in the state have completed their SIR work, and the remaining ones have also finished half of their job.

While complaints exist about Booth Level Officials (BLOs) facing massive difficulties during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, West Bengal, and other states, Uttarakhand’s 13 BLOs completed their assignment within eight days of starting the drive. Apart from this, according to the electoral officials, majority of the remaining BLOs too have completed their half works within a short period of starting SIR campaign on June 8.

The 13 BLOs who completed the SIR enumeration form distribution and digitization work in 8 days are from seven districts. Uttarakhand Chief Electoral Officer Dr BVRC Purushottam congratulated 13 BLOs for completing SIR in their areas and said that all personnel deployed for the campaign across the state are working diligently and at a greater pace. CEO informed that the BLOs who have already completed the form distribution and digitization work will now serve as a source of energy and inspiration for other BLOs across the state.

BLOs completing their SIR work in the first phase included Ramesh Pujari and Pushpa Devi from the Someshwar assembly constituency in Almora district, Paan Singh Negi from the Badrinath assembly constituency; and Harish Nainwal from the Karnaprayag assembly constituency in Chamoli district. Besides them were Meenakshi Rawat from the Chakrata assembly segment in Dehradun, and Gabbar Singh, Sangeeta Rawat and Vijay Bisht from the Pauri assembly constituency. Karan Bahadur Karki and Janki Chand from the Didihat assembly constituency of Pithoragarh district, Usha Rawat and Nirmala Devi from the Kedarnath assembly segment and Suman from Dhanaulti assembly constituency of Tehri have also completed the SIR enumeration form distribution and digitization work in just eight days.
