11 devotees returning from Khatu ShyamJi killed in van-truck collision in Rajasthan’s Dausa

As many as 11 people, including 7 children, were killed and 12 others injured when a pickup van they were travelling in rammed into a stationary container truck in the Dausa district of Rajasthan early Wednesday.
 
Police and hospital sources said that a group of devotees was returning home in Asroli town of the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh after paying obeisance at the Khatu ShyamJi dham in the Sikar district of Rajasthan when their vehicle rammed into the container truck parked outside a roadside hotel. The accident occurred near Basedi 
bypass culvert on the Dausa-Manoharpur State Highway, around 3 am.
 
Ten people, including 7 children, died on the spot, while one woman succumbed to her injuries at the SMS Hospital here.
 
The deceased included three women. The injured were rushed to the Dausa District Hospital, from where 9 were referred to the SMS Hospital, while three were admitted at the Dausa Hospital.
 
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed grief over the huge loss of human lives and asked the district administration and the hospital authorities to ensure instant relief and medical aid to the injured.
 
Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena, who himself is a medical practitioner, rushed to Dausa on the directives of the Chief Minister. Dr Meena visited the hospitals to meet the injured. 
 
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Gehlot also wished for a speedy recovery of the injured.
