A unique initiative is underway to elevate tourism and cultural heritage in Ayodhya. A Luv-Kush Park will be constructed near the Maushiwala MRF Centre on the Rae Bareli Highway at a cost of ₹17.72 crore under the state’s Smart City Mission. The park will be based on the theme of “Waste to Art,” bringing the mythological stories of the Ramayana to life through scrap metal sculptures, artistic paintings, and interactive installations.
The primary objective of this park, being developed by the Municipal Corporation, is to integrate environmental protection, sustainable development, and cultural preservation.
This project will provide a new dimension to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of a smart city.
Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar said, “The park will specifically focus on the stories of Lord Rama’s sons, Luv and Kush. These popular tales from the Ramayana period will be presented through modern art, enabling future generations to connect with the mythological history. This is an important step towards making Ayodhya a smart city under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Ayodhya is already experiencing rapid development in infrastructure, sanitation, and tourism facilities. The Luv-Kush Park will further strengthen this development.”
The “Waste to Art” theme is the heart of this project. City waste and scrap materials will be collected and used to create magnificent sculptures, models, and installations. Ram-Sita, Luv-Kush, the Ashwamedha Yagya, the exile, and other important events will be depicted through scrap metal sculptures. Through interactive installations, visitors will be able to become part of these stories.
For example, the incident of Luv-Kush capturing a horse will be depicted through 3D models and a sound-light show, Kumar said.
This park will not only be a sightseeing experience but also an educational one. Special tours and workshops will be organised for school and college students, raising awareness on environmental protection and waste management. It will also demonstrate that waste can be a resource, not a burden.
Following religious sites like the Ram Temple, Hanuman Garhi, and Kanak Bhawan in Ayodhya, the Luv-Kush Park will become a new tourist attraction. Devotees who are connected to the stories of the Ramayana will come here to experience not only a spiritual experience but also witness environmentally friendly development. The park will have modern facilities such as walkways, gardens, seating arrangements, lighting, and security.
This project will prove to be a unique confluence of public art, culture, and sustainable development. In today’s times, when the problem of plastic and waste is growing, the message of “art from waste” from a holy city like Ayodhya will inspire the entire country.
Experts believe that such parks not only boost tourism but also strengthen the local economy. According to the Municipal Corporation, construction work will begin soon. The entire park will be built with environmentally friendly materials. The design combines the traditional style of the Ramayana with modern technology.
