A tense situation prevailed in Punjab's Patiala after stones were hurled and swords were brandished as clashes broke out between two groups near Kali Mata temple in the city on Friday.
"Unfortunately, this realisation dawned on us only a couple of years ago," Raut said, referring to the decision of Sena to dump the BJP after the 2019 Assembly elections and join hands with the NCP and Congress to form the Maha Vikas Aghadi government headed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
The governor on Saturday invited the BJP to form the government in the state as the party, with 105 seats in the 288 seat assembly is the largest one and has comfortably crossed the majority mark along with its pre-poll alliance partner the Shiv Sena which bagged 56 seats.
