Taking to Twitter, National in-charge of BJP's Information and Technology department, Amit Malviya said, "Have phones been hacked - NOT SURE. Who ordered the hack - NO IDEA. Where did the list of phone numbers come from - NO ONE KNOWS. Did the investigative story give any evidence to suggest who could be behind it - NO. This, in a nutshell, is the concocted Pegasus hack story."
The plea said: "The Pegasus scandal is a matter of grave concern and an attack on the Indian democracy, country's security and judiciary. The widespread use of surveillance is morally disfiguring. National security implications of this software are huge".
The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee led by its chief Niranjan Patnaik charged that the snoop gate has exposed the BJP and its game plan of winning elections and toppling Congress governments. NSO has categorically stated that it provides spyware to government agencies alone and not to any private party.
