Reinfection with different Omicron sub-types possible: Danish study

According to the study, PCR tests carried out on approximately two million Danes affected primarily by Omicron's sub-types BA.1 and BA.2 revealed that "67 cases in which the same individual had become infected twice at a 20-60-day interval where both infections were due to Omicron sub-types".

Omicron doesn’t cause as much damage to the lungs

A study by a consortium of US and Japanese scientists on hamsters and mice found those infected with Omicron had less lung damage, lost less weight and were less likely to die than those who had other variants, the Daily Mail reported.

Eight Omicron cases reported in MP

The samples of these people, who returned to the state's industrial hub Indore from different countries, were taken between December 17 and 21, according to officials.
