Earlier this week, the region got its first flying training academy at Lilabari airport in Assam's Lakhimpur district, established in line with the Centre’s plans to develop nine new pilot training academies in addition to the existing 34 in the country.
The state governments of Assam, Manipur and Tripura have identified routes connecting Guwahati, Imphal and Agartala with selected international destinations viz. Bangkok, Dhaka, Kathmandu, Yangon, Hanoi, Mandalay, Kunming and Chittagong.
These CBOs would not only enhance the supply chain management at district level, but would also replace the 'vicious chain of middlemen'.
"At present, the NFR is running 78 specials trains and 35 local passenger trains per day for the persons who are in urgent need for travel,"
