Superstar Mahesh Babu’s 25th film Maharshi has been winning accolades from across quarters and also performing well at the box office. Celebrities and fellow actors have been showering praises on the Telugu superstar for his performance and versatility.

The superstar has now received praise from an unexpected quarter — the Vice President of India. Venkaiah Naidu congratulated Mahesh Babu on his acting skills on Wednesday.

Talking about Mahesh Babu’s spectacular work, the Vice President wrote on his social media handle, “With a rural theme, a film that highlights the need for farm conservation and support for the elderly, Maharshi is a remarkable film that everyone needs to watch. It highlights the greatness of the rural population and the importance of agriculture.”

Venkaiah Naidu was born and brought up in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, and began his political career from there.

Responding to the message, Mahesh replied, “Sir.. This is such an honour for me personally & our whole team… it can’t get better than this. Thank you Sir, your words have inspired us to keep doing more films like “Maharshi”.. on behalf of Team Maharshi….humbled, Sir.”

Earlier, Karan Johar had lauded the actor’s performance, style.

The actor is seen essaying the role of an NRI businessman who returns to his homeland where he becomes the hero of the poor and oppressed farmers. The film has already crossed the 100 crore mark worldwide on the box office and continues to entertain the audiences.

After the massive hit and appreciation that the actor garnered for his performance in Bharat Aenu Nenu, in which he plays Chief Minister of a state, fans have come to associate the actor as a character-actor.

Maharshi has been directed by Vamsi Paidipally and also starrs Allari Naresh and Pooja Hegde in the lead. The film released on 9 May 2019.
