Tumhari Sulu, starring Vidya Balan, is all set to be remade in Tamil version. Jyotika will play Vidya Balan’s character, Sulu. The character of Sulu in the film is of the housewife-turned-RJ who becomes an instant hit and perseveres to balance her life as a homemaker and a career-oriented woman.
The film will be directed by Radha Mohan. Mohan said, “I am excited to be directing such an appreciated film like Tumhari Sulu, and starring Jyotika no less, with whom I had a great association in Mozhi. I was impressed with the realistic presentation of Tumhari Sulu and hope to recreate the magic in Tamil with Jyotika.”
Meanwhile, Tamil actress Jyotika said that she is a big fan of Vidya Balan. “I love her voice and command over Hindi, which is rare in Bollywood today. I’ve watched every film of hers, and Tumhari Sulu, in my opinion, is her most lovable work. I feel honored to be stepping into her shoes. Kudos to the producers and to Suresh (Triveni) for making such a lively, honest, and real film!”

Taran Adarsh took the Instagram handle to share the news with the caption, “#TumhariSulu in Tamil… The much-loved Vidya Balan starrer will be remade in Tamil by G Dhananjayan, who has acquired the rights from its producers T-Series and Ellipsis Ent… Jyothika will essay the part of Sulu in the Tamil remake… Radha Mohan will direct.”
The cast and crew of Tamil remake of Tumari Sulu are yet to be finalised.
