Bollywood actor and Padma Shri awardee Sridevi, who had an illustrious career spanning over four decades, passed away at 54.

Sridevi suffered a massive cardiac arrest on Saturday night while she was in UAE with her family to attend Mohit Marwah’s wedding.  Sridevi was with her husband Boney Kapoor and her younger daughter Khushi. Sridevi’s older daughter had to stay back in India for her first debut film Dhadak.

Sridevi, who stepped into showbiz at an age of four, is known for performances in Mr. India, Nagina, Sadma, ChalBaaz, Chandni, Khuda Gawah, among many others in different Indian languages.

Her last film ‘Mom’ created quite an impact amongst the critics and viewers alike. Her powerful portrayal of a doting mother who takes revenge for her daughter sent shivers down the spine. Although MOM is Sridevi’s last film she was scheduled to appear in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s film with Aanand L Rai, Zero.

It is indeed a big loss for the film industry today.
