How Vijay’s career was shaped by RB Choudary
RB Choudary’s name is closely linked with Vijay’s early film journey. In the late 1990s, Vijay had faced a series of box office failures and was struggling to find strong commercial success.
That phase changed with the 1996 film ‘Poove Unakkaga’, produced by Choudary. Directed by Vikraman, the romantic comedy became Vijay’s first major breakthrough. The film ran for more than 270 days in theatres across Tamil Nadu and later became popular enough to be remade in multiple languages.
This success gave Vijay a new direction in his career.
