The much-loved South cinema franchise ‘Vaazha’ is back in conversation, and this time the chatter is louder, fresher. A brand-new first-look poster of ‘Vaazha 3’ has dropped, and it is already setting timelines on fire with one bold twist: the next chapter is heading toward an all-women spotlight.
The poster and announcement were shared by writer and filmmaker Vipin Das, who has been the creative force behind the franchise’s writing. And just like that, the third instalment is officially titled ‘Vaazha 3: Biopic of a Billion Girls’.
A new chapter with a new identity
The third film in the franchise is not just continuing a story. It is flipping the entire idea. The tagline ‘Biopic of Billion Girls’ has already sparked curiosity.
Adding more excitement, the film will be directed by debutant Viswan Sreejith. Interestingly, he is not a stranger to the franchise world. He has worked closely within the direction team earlier, and now he is stepping into the main director’s chair for the first time.
Production will start next year.
From Boys to Bros to Billion Girls: The franchise journey
The Vaazha series has slowly built its identity through fresh storytelling and new talent. The first film, ‘Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys’, released in 2024 and was directorial of Anand Menen, with writing by Vipin Das. It featured a strong ensemble cast including Siju Sunny, Amith Mohan Rajeswari, Joemon Jyothir, Anshid Anu, Anuraj OB, Saaf, Jagadish, Kottayam Nazeer, Azees Nedumangad, Noby Marcose.

Then came the second chapter, ‘Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros’, directed by Savin SA and again written by Vipin Das. This instalment expanded the universe further with actors like Hashir H, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, Vinayak V, along with well-known names such as Vijay Babu, Aju Varghese, Bijukuttan, Alphonse Puthren, and Sudheesh in supporting roles.
The film arrived in 2026 and continued the franchise’s growing popularity.
“Door always open”: The philosophy behind Vaazha
In his Instagram note, Vipin Das described how the franchise has grown beyond expectations. He said the love from audiences has pushed the team to think bigger each time. The core idea remains unchanged; bringing in new talent and giving space to fresh voices.
He also highlighted that ‘Vaazha’ is an open platform, where new writers, directors, actors, musicians can step in. According to him, every new chapter will continue to change faces behind and in front of the camera.
