Samantha Ruth Prabhu just added another feather to her cap. Her latest Telugu film, ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram,’ has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide — and according to the makers, it’s the first Telugu film led by a woman to pull that off.
The news came straight from Samantha’s own production house, Tralala Moving Pictures, which posted the announcement on Instagram on Sunday. They called it a historic moment for Telugu cinema, welcomed the film into the “100 crore club,” and thanked audiences for turning it into a genuine blockbuster.

What the film’s actually about
‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ hit theatres on June 19. It’s a family entertainer at its core — action, comedy, and drama all mixed together — directed by Nandini Reddy, with the story credited to Raj Nidimoru. Samantha leads the film, and she’s joined by Diganth and Gulshan Devaiah in key roles. Rounding out the cast are Sree Mukhi, Gautami, Anand, Lakshmi, Srinivas Gavireddy, and Manjusha.
She did her own stunts — and paid for it
In the run-up to release, Samantha talked a fair bit about how physically demanding the action in this film was. At a pre-release event in Chennai, she explained that the team deliberately avoided slow-motion effects, over-the-top flying stunts, or the usual dramatic hero build-up you see in most action scenes. The goal was to make the fights feel real, not choreographed for spectacle.
And she wasn’t exaggerating about the effort — Samantha did all her own action sequences, no stunt double. She’s said she picked up real injuries on set, took actual hits, and even bled while shooting some of the fight scenes. Her reasoning: the rawness of it is exactly what makes the action land with audiences, because it looks like it’s actually happening rather than performed for the camera.
More than just another role for her
Back in January, Samantha had already spoken about how personal this project felt. She described the film as the story of a woman whose real strength doesn’t come from just being tough — it comes from her vulnerability too.
She’s also talked about what it meant to work on this as a producer, not just an actor. Bringing the film to life through her own production company added a whole other layer to it for her — it wasn’t just a performance, it was something she helped build from the ground up, both in front of the camera and behind it.
