Anna Konidala, the wife of Telugu actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, has made a heartfelt request to the public. In a personal post on Instagram, she asked everyone to address her as Anna Konidala instead of Anna Lezhneva.
As she prepares to celebrate her upcoming birthday, Anna said she felt it was finally the right time to explain why her name matters so much to her. She admitted that she had wanted to write about it ever since she created her Instagram account but struggled to find the right words.
“A name is such a personal thing,” she wrote. “With my birthday coming up soon, I felt like it’s finally the right moment to write this. I’ve been meaning to do it ever since I started this Instagram account. I wrote it, deleted it… came back to it again. And I just couldn’t find the right way to say it.”
Why she wants to be known as Anna Konidala
Anna explained that many people still know her as Anna Lezhneva because that was the name widely used when news of her marriage to Pawan Kalyan became public.
However, she revealed that this is no longer her legal surname. According to Anna, the marriage certificate was the last official document where the surname Lezhneva appeared. From the day of her marriage, she officially adopted her husband’s surname and became Anna Konidala.
Sharing her request with followers, she wrote, “So if you’ve read this far, I just have one small request. Please call me Anna Konidala.”
She added that the name feels like her true identity and thanked everyone for respecting her choice.
“That’s my name. It’s the one I feel like myself with. Thank you for understanding. It really means a lot to me,” she said.
Anna also mentioned that the photograph shared along with the post was taken during her and Pawan Kalyan’s first trip together to Saint Petersburg, Russia.
