The trailer for the much-anticipated Kannada film, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, has released.
The new film serves as a prequel to the 2022 hit ‘Kantara’. While the trailer does not reveal the full plot, it skillfully builds curiosity and sets the stage for the story that unfolds before the events of the original movie.
Audiences are introduced to fresh faces, including Gulshan Devaiah, who plays a formidable king. His character exerts brutal control over the villagers, collecting heavy taxes in the form of farm produce. And, he punishes anyone who dares to challenge his authority.
Conflict arises when the princess of the kingdom falls in love with Rishab Shetty’s character. Gulshan’s wrath escalates, and it is here that Panjurli, the demigod, emerges as the protector of the villagers.

The film boasts a talented creative team. Music is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. Cinematography by Arvind Kashyap brings the rugged landscapes and intense action sequences to life. And, production designer Vinesh Banglan ensures that every scene reflects the film’s rich cultural backdrop.
‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ also promises grand-scale action. One of the film’s highlights is an epic war sequence, choreographed with help from both national and international specialists.
This sequence involves over 500 skilled fighters and 3,000 people in total. Filmed over 45 to 50 days across 25 acres of challenging terrain, it is considered one of the largest and most ambitious action sequences in Indian cinema history.
Produced by Hombale Films, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ is ready to hit theatres on October 2. The film will release in multiple languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English.
