As expected, the images of these two cinema giants embracing and celebrating this political moment went viral within minutes. Fans flooded the internet with comments.
For those unfamiliar with Kamal Haasan’s political journey, this Rajya Sabha appointment marks a significant step. Haasan, who founded the party ‘Makkal Needhi Maiyam’ in 2018, has long been vocal about his desire to bring change to Tamil Nadu politics.

His entry into the Rajya Sabha comes after an alliance with the DMK. They allotted him one of the seats from Tamil Nadu as part of a previous agreement.
Alongside Haasan, five other candidates from the state were elected unopposed.
On the cinema front, both Haasan and Rajinikanth have packed schedules. Kamal Haasan last appeared in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Thug Life’, a gangster drama that hit the screens on June 5.
Next, he’ll be returning to his iconic vigilante role in S. Shankar’s ‘Indian 3’, and is also reportedly working on a project with the action duo Anbariv.
Rajinikanth, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of ‘Coolie’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is ready to arrive in theatres on August 14.
