Malayalam film and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navas has passed away at the age of 51. He was found dead in his hotel room in Chottanikkara, near Kochi.
Police have confirmed the news but haven’t revealed the cause of death yet. The sudden loss has shocked fans and the Malayalam entertainment industry alike.
Kalabhavan Navas, who was widely popular for his humour and mimicry skills, started his career in the popular Kalabhavan troupe in Kerala. He made his film debut in 1995 with ‘Chaithanyam’ and went on to act in several comedy films.
Over the years, he became known for bringing smiles to people’s faces with his performances in movies like ‘Hitler Brothers’, ‘Junior Mandrake’, ‘Meenakshi Kalyanam’, ‘Chandamama’, and ‘Thillana Thillana’.
His last appearance on screen was in the mystery-comedy film ‘Detective Ujjwalan’.

As news of his death spread, fans and colleagues began paying tribute to the late actor. Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar shared his condolences on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Tributes to the late film and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navas. Heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the film fraternity during this time of grief.”

Actor Rony David Raj, who acted alongside Navas in ‘Detective Ujjwalan’, also posted an emotional message on Instagram. He expressed his shock and offered prayers for the soul.
Navas was not only an entertainer but also a family man. He is survived by his wife and three children.
Many in the industry remember him as someone who always carried a smile and made others laugh, both on and off screen.
