‘Hridayapoorvam’ trailer: Fans of Malayalam cinema have a reason to celebrate as the teaser of ‘Hridayapoorvam’, the much-awaited Mohanlal starrer, is finally out.

The film is special not just because it features the legendary actor, but also because it marks his reunion with director Sathyan Anthikad after nearly a decade. Their last collaboration was in 2015, and since then, fans have eagerly awaited their return as a team.

‘Hridayapoorvam’ brings together a star-studded cast. Alongside Mohanlal, the film features Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita, Siddique, Nishan, Baburaj, Lalu Alex, and Janardhanan in significant roles.

The teaser, released on Saturday through Mohanlal’s Instagram account, offers a glimpse into the film’s light-hearted tone. It opens with a playful exchange between Mohanlal’s character and a young college student.

The student, in all sincerity, gushes about his admiration for actor Fahadh Faasil. But Mohanlal’s character, perhaps playing a veteran actor himself, appears visibly irked, pointing out that there are plenty of senior actors worthy of praise.

The boy, however, sticks to his opinion, claiming Fahadh is the best, leaving Mohanlal’s character both amused and annoyed.

The story of ‘Hridayapoorvam’ has been crafted by Akhil Sathyan, while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Sonu TP. Music for the film is composed by Justin Prabhakaran, adding another layer of anticipation for those who look forward to soulful melodies in Malayalam films.

The production has backing of Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner, which has previously delivered several successful Mohanlal projects. The movie is all ready for a theatrical release on August 28, 2025.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal is also making headlines for confirming the release date of ‘Drishyam 3’, the next installment of the blockbuster thriller series. The ‘Drishyam’ franchise, which first hit the screens in 2013, has been a massive success and has spawned multiple remakes across languages. The Hindi version starring Ajay Devgn was also a hit at the box office.

In the original ‘Drishyam’, Mohanlal plays Georgekutty, a simple man whose life spirals into a web of suspense and secrecy after the accidental death of a high-ranking police officer’s son.

The second part, ‘Drishyam 2’, released in 2021, continued the story, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.
