Malayalam cinema has welcomed a gripping mystery thriller with the release of ‘Eko’, a 2025 film directed by Dinjith Ayyathan. Written and shot by Bahul Ramesh, the duo reunites after their hit movie ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’.

Produced by MRK Jhayaram under Aaradyaa Studios, ‘Eko’ marks the studio’s very first production. The film hit theatres worldwide on 21 November 2025.

‘Eko’ has released alongside ‘Vilayath Buddha’ and the reviews are pouring in.

‘Eko’ plot

Set against the misty slopes of Kaattukunnu, ‘Eko’ tells the story of Mlaathi Chedathi and Peyoos, two individuals struggling to survive amid mysterious events. At the heart of the story is Kuriyachan, a businessman with a dark past, whose legend seems to dominate the hills forever.

Though the trailer reveals very little, it hints at a mysterious “breed of canine from Malaysia” in addition to a man who supplied these dogs to the Navy.

The film spans multiple timelines and locations, teasing a complex story where different characters appear to search for one central figure.

The full title is ‘Eko: From The Infinite Chronicles Of Kuraichan’.

The ensemble is supported by a technical team with Mujeeb Majeed composing the music, Sooraj ES handling editing, and Sajeesh Thamarassery leading art direction.

Filming took place extensively in Kerala’s Idukki district, with principal photography beginning in April 2025 and wrapping up by mid-June.

As part of the “Animal Trilogy”, following ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ and ‘Kerala Crime Files: Season Two’, ‘Eko’ continues Bahul Ramesh’s fascination with animal instincts and human morality.

Instead of revealing the plot, the trailer teases multiple timelines, mysterious hills, and enigmatic characters. Viewers catch glimpses of strange dogs, shady figures, hunt that spans decades.
