‘Dude’ trailer: Pradeep Ranganathan packs punches and wit in this festive action drama

The wait is finally over for fans of Pradeep Ranganathan. The trailer of his upcoming pan-Indian film ‘Dude’, directed by Keerthiswaran, has officially dropped. And it is full of action, humour, and youthful energy.

The trailer was unveiled on Thursday by Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind the film. Sharing it on X (formerly Twitter), they wrote, “Entertainment goes in overdrive mode with the DUDE’S TOP GEAR. #DudeTrailer out now. #Dude Grand Festive Release on October 17th in Tamil & Telugu.”

From the first frame, ‘Dude’ looks like a fun ride. The story revolves around a young man played by Pradeep Ranganathan, who everyone around him thinks is a good-for-nothing dreamer.

Veteran actor Sarath Kumar plays his strict uncle. He constantly scolds for his carefree attitude. Mamitha Baiju popular for her performance in the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Premalu’ plays his loyal companion.

The trailer paints Pradeep’s character as someone who refuses to bow down to society’s expectations. He is reckless and fearless in the face of challenges. One of the standout moments in the trailer is when Mamitha asks him, “You keep getting into fights with this body. Tell me, can you fight ten people at once?”

To this, he coolly responds, “Even if it’s a hundred, I can take the blows.”

Director Keerthiswaran appears to have crafted a story that balances fun and fire, with Pradeep once again stepping into a role that lets him play the charming underdog. After the massive success of his last release ‘Dragon’, which turned into a blockbuster, expectations from ‘Dude’ are sky-high.

Adding to the excitement is the film’s striking first-look poster, which showed Pradeep in a fierce avatar: bruised, intense, and holding a mangalsutra in his hand.

Behind the camera cinematographer Niketh Bommi is handling the visuals. Editor Barath Vikraman is in charge of giving it a sharp, racy cut. The costumes have been designed by Poornima Ramaswamy.

Alongside Pradeep, Mamitha, and Sarath Kumar, ‘Dude’ also stars Rohini Molleti, Hridhu Haroon, and Dravid Selvam in key roles, rounding out a strong supporting cast.

The film will release in five languages:Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The film will have a grand Deepavali release on October 17.
