Superstar Rajinikanth is back in action, and fans are already buzzing with excitement. The trailer for his upcoming film ‘Coolie’ released on Saturday.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film will hit theatres on August 14, just in time for the Independence Day weekend.
In the trailer, Rajinikanth is in a completely new avatar; rugged, intense, and packed with energy. The action scenes are bold, the background music hits hard, and the dialogues are sharp. There’s a strong mass appeal to every frame.

Adding to the excitement, actor Nagarjuna appears as the main villain. His face-off with Rajinikanth is expected to be one of the big highlights of the movie.

But what’s really got everyone talking is Aamir Khan’s special appearance. After almost 30 years, Rajinikanth and Aamir will share screen space again. They last worked together in the 1995 film ‘Aatank Hi Aatank’. In ‘Coolie’, Aamir plays a character named ‘Dahaa’, and his rugged look in the newly released poster has taken social media by storm.
The film has officially received an A certificate from the censor board, meaning it’s only for adults. This is rare for a Rajinikanth film and hints at serious action, raw drama, and mature themes.
‘Coolie’ is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, and the music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. So far, three songs from the movie, ‘Monica’, ‘Chikitu’, and ‘PowerHouse’, have already released.
As for the big screen release, ‘Coolie’ is going to launch globally on August 14, which means it will go head-to-head at the box office with another major release, ‘War 2’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR.
