Karan Johar’s late-night pondering upon the cons of technology and social media has resulted in a noteworthy thought. The filmmaker took to Twitter on Wednesday night and probably slammed Indian media.

His tweet read, “Dear Sensitivity….are you soon becoming extinct? You were best friends with instinct…why did you fall apart? And why have you lost yourself to technology and social media ….get back to your old self, please! Love…Humanity.”

Karan might be hinting at the news coverage of Sridevi’s death by the media, especially TV. Rather than dealing with the incident with a little sensitivity and dignity, baseless sensationalisation was what viewers got to see, opined many.

Recently, Irrfan Khan informed that he was suffering from a “rare disease”. Though the actor did not disclose the disease, rumors instantly spread that it’s brain tumor.

Karan, hence, may not be wrong, and most of the comments on his post support him. Here is the reaction he received from social media.

Karan Johar was a friend and a fan of Sridevi said a source from India’s Next Superstars, judged by the director. “He had a video cassette named ‘Best of Sridevi’, which featured all the late actress’s hit songs. Karan would watch it repeatedly because he was a big fan. He also shared that Shekhar Kapoor (who directed Mr. India) had accepted a challenge from Feroz Khan (who’d made Jaanbaaz), that nobody can make Sridevi look as sexy as he did in a chiffon saree. The Mr. India song “Kaate Nahi Katate” with her in a blue chiffon sari was shot as a direct consequence of that challenge,” says a report in Mumbai Mirror quoting the source.
