Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra who was supposed to perform at the forthcoming opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has withdrawn from the event. Prior to this Ranveer Singh backed out because of his shoulder injury. Reports suggest that Parineeti feels she is not prepared enough.

The cricket tournament’s opening ceremony is scheduled to be held on Saturday.

The actresses’ spokesperson said in a statement,”Parineeti was shooting non-stop for ‘Namastey England’ in Patiala and had back-to-back, pre-committed endorsement commitments. So, unfortunately, she did not have enough time to rehearse in spite of her best efforts.”

“Being a thorough professional, Parineeti spoke to Wizcraft (show producers) and explained to them that she was not okay putting up a compromised performance. Wizcraft has been gracious enough to understand this and agrees with Parineeti. She would not be performing at the gala opening,” the spokesperson added.

Ranveer injured his shoulder during a charity football match and he has been advised not to overstrain it for at least one month. According to the reports in the DNA, Hrithik Roshan is likely to replace Ranveer Singh for this grand event. Hrithik has earlier performed at IPL opening ceremony in 2015.
