Prosenjit’s next is Bengali film based on Bankim’s ‘Devi Chaudhurani’
Based on the novel by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, local folk tales and real historical events and characters. Autumn 2024.
Superstar of Bengali cinema Prosenjit Chatterjee is one of those actors whom every director wants to rope in for a film. Prosenjit and Soumitra Chatterjee-starrer Mayuakshi received rave reviews and even made it to the ‘top 10 films’ list of IFI.
TOI reports that the actor was recently spotted with director Arindam Sil at The Hyatt. So whats cooking? “Both of us were brainstorming on how differently I can cast Bumbada in my film. He has been cast by most of the directors in a variety of roles so I have to do something that will make him stand apart. We have two three stories in mind at the moment. Let’s see which one works out,” Sil was quoted by the TOI.
Prosenjit too reacted, saying: “I like the way Arindam mounts his films. We are looking at subjects at the moment.” Now, wouldn’t it be great if the duo works together on a project? We can’t wait!’
