Filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma and actor Amitabh Bachchan will come together for the third installment of the critically acclaimed Sarkar series.
However, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will not be a part of the project. Well, Verma feels that making Sarkar without Big B is "not possible".
“Sarkar 3 first look will be launched on 26th August. Going by the story, both Abhishek and Aishwarya will not be featuring in this segment,” Verma wrote on microblogging website Twitter.
“Scale of Sarkar 3 will be much larger and intense than the earlier two…Rest of the cast details will be soon announced,” the director added.
Earlier, while speaking to a tabloid, Verma revealed that Amitabh will be seen portraying the lead role in the film, like the prequels.
Confessing that filming Sarkar is impossible without the Shehanshah of Bollywood, RGV said, “It might be possible to make Godfather without (Marlon) Brando, but not Sarkar without Bachchan.”
"Since he arrived on the screen some 40 years ago, we haven’t seen a single actor who has his kind of presence, personality and charisma," Verma added.
The filmmaker went on to describe Sarkar 3 as the "return of Bachchan’s anger".
“Anger is a state of the mind and has nothing to do with age. It comes from a sense of justice, a feeling of righteousness. For too long, he’s been playing mild, complacent characters, it’s high time his much-loved anger comes back. Being an aam aadmi, his anger will be against exploitation, oppression and injustice,“ he said.
Revealing details of the film, the director added, “Two-three ideas were worked upon and discarded, and now, finally, we have a script we both are excited about. Sarkar’s distinctive look won’t change, but given the complexity of the script, the visual style will change.“
