‘The Wrong Paris’ climbs to no. 1 on Netflix amid mixed reviews

Netflix viewers are falling for ‘The Wrong Paris’. The movie has quickly climbed to the top of the platform’s trending list. This 2025 romantic comedy tells a funny story about unexpected love, and of course mistaken plans.

The movie stars Miranda Cosgrove, known for her Nickelodeon days, as Dawn. She plays a young woman with big dreams. She’s just been accepted into an art school in Paris, France, but needs money to pay for her course.

When she hears about a dating show set in Paris, she thinks it’s the perfect opportunity. But there’s a twist. The show is actually in Paris, Texas.

Dawn’s plan is simple. Get on the show, earn some cash, and get eliminated as fast as possible. Of course, things don’t go as planned.

Enter Trey, the charming cowboy bachelor played by Pierson Fodé, who slowly begins to win her heart.

The film is full of lighthearted moments. It also comes with comic misunderstandings, and romantic sparks. The supporting cast adds extra charm, featuring Yvonne Orji, Madison Pettis, Frances Fisher, Emilija Baranac, Madeleine Arthur, Torrance Coombs, Christin Park, Hannah Stocking, Naika Toussaint, Veronica Long, and Ava Bianchi.

‘The Wrong Paris’ comes in direction of Janeen Damian, with a screenplay by Nicole Henrich. The film is a production of Brad Krevoy for MPCA and Michael Damian for Netflix. It released on September 12, 2025.

Critics and viewers have shared mixed feelings about the movie, reflected in its 60% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
