Billy sacrifices himself to save the kids, and Hopper seemingly dies in the explosion that results from Joyce’s final desperate attempt to save the town.
‘Stranger Things’ season 4
Season 4 is divided between Hawkins and California, where Eleven struggles to fit into her new life at a new school. Meanwhile, through flashbacks, it’s revealed that Hopper survived the events of the previous season, although he remains imprisoned in a Russian camp.
Meanwhile, a new villain, Vecna, rises as a terrifying mastermind who kills his victims in horrifying ways while manipulating the Upside Down.
This season is especially emotional for Eleven, who works to regain her powers. We also find out the origin of Vecna and that he has something directly to do with the past of Eleven, making this fight very personal. In the final conflict, the gang finds themselves divided between the real world and Upside Down, fighting a multi-layered battle against Vecna and his minions.
Max is gravely injured, and while Eleven is able to bring her back, the threat of the Upside Down continues to hang over Hawkins.
